I am the primary caregiver for my 85 year old father who ended up in the hospital due to an infection that resulted in falls. After a month in the hospital and a rehab center he was released to return home. I work at home however I worried about him needing me during the day when I was in my office and not being able to reach me because he struggles with using the phone. I found this product and it is amazing. There are two settings and I prefer the ding ding during work because it sounds like a door bell and isn't overly loud. It also rings just once. The alarm is great if you are a sound sleeper and worried your loved one will buzz you and you won't hear the ring.Purchasing this product was the best decision. It helps my dad feel more independent because he doesn't get frustrated with trying to reach me on the phone and I am also not annoying him checking on him more than he likes. He rings me when he needs me. The product has helped reduce my stress because ik he can reach me whenever he wants my help. I love that he can wear the buzzer around his neck. Highly recommend for a caregiver who wants their patient family member to feel supported and also independent. This had been one of the best items I’ve ever bought. My Alzheimer’s grandma can now have her “own” space for a couple hours and so can I. The pager really reaches far! My grandmother has her own little house beside mine and my bedroom is on the opposite side in my house and the pager works even in there! She missed having her own space & so did I so this has really been a lifesaver for both of us! I highly recommend it!My disabled brother has had some issues with falling and is many times too weak to get back up. My mother couldn't hear him calling for her. This product has changed their lives so they don't have to worry about him laying in the floor for any length of time. It's also helpful when he's feeling too weak to to get out of bed, so he uses it and she comes running! Works without a landline, cellphone or any other device. Definitely worth the money.very easy operation and the noise level is easy to hear. The alarm is very loud I jump every time he pushes the button. I had this once before and needed to replace. The second one did not last as long as the first set so I will not purchase againWorks good when I'm around the house or in the garage and mom needs help. This is a VERY useful product. My wife just had major surgery, and has been mostly bed-ridden. I work from a home office, and need her to be able to reach me on short notice from the opposite corner of our 1,200 sqft apartment. My first thought when considering this product was "Why would I need something like this when my wife can just text me or call me on our cell phones?". Good question....then I realized that doing this would require several steps: find the phone - unlock the phone - navigate to my cell phone number - enter a text/call me...In an emergency, this would present WAY too many steps. Once I went through this expected chain of events, I placed an order for the Smart Caregiver product.Amazingly enough, I ordered the product on the day my wife was being discharged from the hospital, and was presented with the option of same day delivery. I figured I'd accept this option, just to see what the charge would be, and was amazed to find out same day delivery would be at no charge. Excellent! When we got her home, I placed one of the transmitters near her bed, and the other in her bathroom, and carried the remote pager with me. Since I was required to be with her whenever she needed to get out of the bed, these locations made sense. We didn't use the clips provided - not because they're not useful (screws and double-side tape are provided), but just because we haven't gotten around to selecting appropriate mounting locations. She was initially hesitant to embrace this new "gadget", as in "Do we REALLY need another electronic thing?!", but all it took was once punch of the call button to realize that this was a LOT easier, convenient, and most of all, FASTER than using the cell phone to reach me.The "Pager" receiver has two sounds it can make, and these are selected with a sliding button on the pager itself. The first is a standard "Ding - Dong" of an old doorbell. Pressing the call button results in two Ding-Dong sounds, and then stops. This sound was sufficiently loud to get my attention from every situation I had around the house, including talking on a conference call with a headset, watching TV in another room, etc..The second sound is a warbling alarm - think siren. When this alarm is selected, it sounds and does not stop until you turn it off on the pager. I have used this sound when I knew I'd be deeply involved in an activity, like showering, using a vacuum cleaner, or otherwise engaged in a louder task. The alarm absolutely gets your attention. The range is quoted as 500 feet, but we haven't tested this since our apartment is nowhere near that large, but I can say I've had the pager clipped to my belt and gone outside to walk our dogs, and it's reached me 5 stories down and a couple hundred feet away. So, why not 5 stars? Well, the belt clip is useful, but I have found the pager can be bumped off my belt a little too easily. In addition, the pager is made of hard (read - possible too easy to crack) plastic, and the couple of times it's fallen from my belt, I've worried it would break. In fact, both time, the battery cover popped off.Other things that I'd suggest improving are the batteries for the call buttons: they are special types, not normally available. I suppose this battery was chosen for its small size, but given the size of the button, I would imagine a normal AAA could be used. We've also hung one of the pagers near the shower stall via the included lanyard. As she has recuperated, she's been able to take her own showers, but the risk of slipping is high, so being able to place a call button near the shower is called for. The button is not waterproof or even water resistant, so I've wrapped in in a plastic bag. This seems to have worked so far. Making an accessory to allow for use in a wet environment would be a good idea.Having said all this, we feel strongly that this is a very good product, well worth the money, and will certainly continue to use it long after my wife has fully recovered from her surgery. Highly recommended. So far no complaints. Has been as advertised. Simple and effective.I have had problems with other wireless devices in my bungalow so was worried that I would not be able to receive the signal when I was at the far end of the house. It is excellent. I can hear it everywhere including in the garden. My mother is absolutley delighted with it. Her face lights up when I appear after she has pressed the button. Worth every penny to see her.Good range within the house - it works from enclosed environment of bathroom which was important. Two alarm sounds - a quiet shorter one and a louder and longer one which is good for night time to wake carer up. Bought it for my dad who looks after my mum at home : she hasn't had to use it yet so can't comment on other reviews regarding size / ease of pressing alarm button. Each alarm has a separate holder which can be fixed to wall or similar; can take pendent in and out easily. Overall pleased - the wireless range was most important factor and that's working great. No problems with range/reception. Could do with a volume control for during the night. Could also do with a more prominent/easy to press button. The person that I got this for had impaired eyesight and loss of feeling in the hands. But overall it's a great concept and meant they didn't have to call out endlessly before someone heard them.Works very well. We are always around to answer the call when the buzzer is pressed. Good product and cheep for what it does.excellent product would reccommend to anyone with elderly parents
